Internationally-recognized global deposition expert Ian Hardy started Optima Juris after many years of living and working abroad as a legal videographer in Paris, France. Ian said, “When I was working in Paris, I was able to see up close and personal what it takes to set up a deposition in a foreign country. Sometimes complications can arise, like when a volcanic eruption in Iceland blocked all air traffic in and out of Europe, completely disrupting dozens of depositions that U.S. lawyers were conducting there at the time. “That was one of the roughest weeks for us in terms of logistics,” Ian remembered. “While other agencies were outright canceling their depositions, we were able to find alternative ways to bring attorneys, court reporters, and videographers together with their witnesses in Europe. No depos got canceled on our watch.”
